First Time Fishing

Last weekend Grandpa Baerg decided it was high time my boys when fishing for the first time!  They were so excited when he got them brand new fishing poles and life vests, and have been waiting for the weather to be nice enough for what feels like forever!  Rob and I jumped along, of course, since this was their first time.  I was having a panic attack, pretty much the entire time having them on a dock so close to water!  We were coming off a weekend of 4 birthday parties, which meant 2 straight days of cupcakes and candy, which any parent knows makes for well mannered  and still boys, Not!  (OMG, I just said “not” – hello 1994, its been a while).  Anywho, no one drowned, and Charlie caught his very first fish – so in Nadeau terms, thats a success!

After the rain

Well, with all of the rain we have been having, its given perfect opportunity to take my macro lens out and get some shots of our blooming new yard!  The boys and I were outside a week or so ago, boys playing with the umbrella, me looking for fallen pedels and rain drops when I discovered my garden statue of St. Francis had become nearly buried in the garden!  I decided to take a quick picture, then move him into a less overgrown spot.  Moments after I placed him in his new home…Charlie walks on over, picks him up and drops breaks him!  I don’t know what I love more; having had this little statue in my garden…or having these adorable images of Charlie IN THE ACT of breaking him, then his 3-year old guilt ridden self trying to piece him back together!  Images.  Definitely Images. So sweet.

Bright Pink – Being In Control of your Health

I was asked by my good friend Emily, from Hadley Road Floral & Design to photograph a Bright Pink event she was doing.  Bright Pink is an organization dedicated to “being Bright, being Smart, being Positive and being In Control of your breast and ovarian health”.  It is a national non-profit organization with and exclusive focus on prevention and early detection of breast and ovarian cancer in high-risk women.

Emily from Hadley Road did a beautiful job orchestrating a “Every Day Bouquet” workshop, teaching ladies the fundamentals of putting together beautiful arrangements for your home and parties.  And our favorite treat lady, Chana from Sugarwood provided the evening with some of her amazing petits!  It was an evening of laughs, wine, heartwarming stories, flowers and BRIGHT PINK!

Charlie’s Bowling & Pizza 3rd Birthday Party

So I had originally planned on a Monster themed birthday party for my little Charlie.  I had the invites designed, sourced some cute decoration stuff, and was nearly ready to hit “buy”, when my 2 little men put a stop to that.  They walk in my office quietly and somberly one afternoon and my oldest Bo says “Mommy.  Charlie has something he needs to tell you”.  With this serious of an entrance all I could do was say; “Yes Charlie, what is it?”.  To which Charlie responds; “Mommy, I don’t want a Monster Birthday Party, I want a Bowling Birthday Party”…giving me the biggest puppy dog eyes as he says it.

How could I say no to that?

So our Monster themed party turned into a fun and casual back yard bowling party!  I found this great inflatable, oversized, bowling set online and we grilled our own pizzas!  It was fun, simple and cute!  After going back through these images, I realized a couple things. 1. Never let my husband dress my kids for occasions…it seems that matching is not his greatest strength, in fact, I also think he may have found the oldest, most worn and ugliest outfits for these kids that we own.  2. Charlie needs a haircut, which I promptly did after downloading these pictures.  There is a fine line between looking floppy haired and looking homeless…apparently we’ve crossed that line.  And 3. Even with the less than desirable hair, and worn cloths…these images are SO MY CHARLIE.  Hes is the life of the party, he lights up the room, he is funny and charming and sloppy and emotional and sarcastic and messy and ALL BOY.
